About Vice Atlas
An independent player hub for the next-gen open world — built solo, in public, with one writer and one byline.
What Vice Atlas is
Vice Atlas is an independent online publication and player hub for the Grand Theft Auto universe — both the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI (launching November 19, 2026) and the existing V (the 2013 / 2014 / 2022 release that's still actively played more than a decade after launch). We publish news, deep-dive analysis, evergreen guides, cultural commentary, structured codex entries, and a public predictions tracker — under one named writer, with sources for every claim.
We are not affiliated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or any publisher. We are not part of a corporate gaming-media network. We are not funded by venture capital or a parent media company.
Who runs it
Vice Atlas is founded and written by CJ Davis, a software engineer with six years of professional experience. Every article on the site is written by a single named human under one byline. There is no rotating freelance roster, no anonymous content team, and no AI-generated copy presented as original analysis.
The decision to ship under a real byline is deliberate. The major outlets that dominate "GTA 6" search results today publish without disclosed authors. Vice Atlas exists, in part, because there is room for a publication that does the opposite.
What we cover
- News — every Rockstar Newswire post, every Trailer drop, every Take-Two earnings call relevant to the GTA VI launch (November 19, 2026), plus analytical pieces and cultural commentary
- Guides — evergreen reference: pre-order, system requirements, map of Leonida, character roster, release countdown, and more
- GTA VI Codex + GTA V Codex — structured reference of every named character, location, vehicle, gang, radio station, mission, and weapon. V is sourced from 13 years of public documentation; VI fills in across launch and post-launch verification.
- Predictions tracker — public ledger of every falsifiable claim we've published. Pending, partial, confirmed, falsified — falsified entries stay in the ledger forever.
- The countdown — live countdown to November 19, 2026
- Tags + Search — discovery surfaces across all content
- Atlas + Crews — the interactive map of Leonida and Los Santos, and the crew wall for FiveM RP servers and GTA Online crews
Where to start
Start anywhere. If you want a recommended path:
- The countdown — if you want the one-page summary of where the clock stands
- Trailer 1 retrospective — if you want a sense of the editorial voice and depth
- Predictions tracker — if you want to see the editorial integrity discipline made structural
- Pre-order guide — if you're here for practical next-step info
- GTA VI Codex — if you want to browse by entity (characters, locations, etc.)
What we do not do
- Clickbait headlines. Titles describe what the article actually contains.
- Autoplay video ads. The reading experience is the priority, not ad density.
- Misrepresenting leaks as confirmed. Every claim is sourced. Speculation is labeled as speculation. Rumored voice actors stay rumored until Rockstar credits them.
- AI-generated copy. AI is used for research, outlining, and editing. Final published copy is written by a human and reviewed line-by-line.
- Rockstar IP infringement. No logos, no asset rips, no copyrighted footage embeds beyond fair-use review context. The map ships hand-traced when it ships.
How it's funded
Vice Atlas is bootstrapped. Pre-launch the site is free at every tier. Post-launch revenue comes from a combination of:
- Display ads (lightweight, never autoplay video)
- An optional Premium membership ($4.99/month) for ad-free reading and advanced features
- Affiliate links to gaming peripherals (clearly disclosed inline)
We have no advertising relationships with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or any party with an interest in our editorial coverage. If that ever changes, the relationship will be disclosed on every relevant page.
Editorial standards
We publish to documented editorial standards, including a clear policy on sourcing, leak handling, AI usage, and conflicts of interest. We correct mistakes publicly through our corrections process.
