The Insider Index · Edition No. 1 · 65 days

Everyone quotes the insiders. Nobody grades them.

Public GTA 6 claims by named insiders, journalists, and outlets — quoted verbatim, dated, archived at entry, and graded when reality answers.

Get on the record →

Think you read this fandom better than the insiders? Reality grades everyone the same.

The rules of the book

  • The grade is about the claim — never the person.
  • Claims resolve on official Rockstar / Take-Two actions only.
  • Hedges are recorded as hedges — never scored.
  • We have no sources — this is retrospective bookkeeping of already-public statements.

  • GRADED: DID NOT OCCUR

Yeah, when's the earnings call? Is it August 7th? Yeah, I reckon we're getting it. Let me see. […] Well GTA 6 trailer August 6th. Boom.

2026-07-24 · Insider Gaming Weekly (YouTube live; quote per the episode's official caption track, 45:44) · source

The rule: Stated as a personal guess, not sourced information ('I don't have anything, but um I think that it starts in August' — same episode, 1:04:42) — recorded as such. Resolves OCCURRED if Rockstar publishes GTA VI Trailer 3 on 2026-08-06 (ET); DID NOT OCCUR if Trailer 3 arrives any other day or not at all by the deadline. Official resolver: rockstargames.com/newswire + youtube.com/@RockstarGames.

No video billed as Trailer 3 published on 2026-08-06. What did land that day: Rockstar announced 'Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look' for Aug 27 — on the date he named, the day before earnings, per the reasoning he stated on the same episode. The claim grades as written; the reasoning sits on the record beside it. Graded 2026-08-09, three days after the window closed — slower than the standard this board holds others to, noted per the record's own correction policy. · per rockstargames.com/newswire (the 2026-08-06 An Extended Look announcement) + youtube.com/@RockstarGames (no trailer-billed upload on 2026-08-06)

  • FROZEN — GRADES ONLY IF AN OFFICIAL NUMBER APPEARS

GTA V did a billion in three days, this one (GTA 6) is doing a billion in an hour, easy.

2026-06-21 · Insider Gaming Podcast (as transcribed by RockstarINTEL; '(GTA 6)' is the outlet's insertion) · source

The rule: Grades ONLY if Rockstar/Take-Two officially state a first-hour or first-day pre-order revenue figure (earnings call, IR release, Newswire). Estimates by analysts or professors do not resolve this row. Official resolver: take2games.com/ir.

  • GRADED: OCCURRED

That's just my own theory, yeah. No insider info. I just don't think they need to do anything yet, despite everyone insisting they do. I think we just get confirmation of the release date + summer marketing next earnings call, which will satisfy investors, and that's it.

    2026-05-13 · X (as quoted by Sportskeeda, 2026-05-13) · source

The rule: His own framing is on the row: 'That's just my own theory, yeah. No insider info.' Grades the two checkable parts only: (a) no new GTA VI trailer before the 2026-05-21 Take-Two earnings call; (b) the November 19, 2026 date confirmed at that call. OCCURRED only if both held. The 'summer marketing' clause is an expectation, not graded. Official resolvers: rockstargames.com/newswire + youtube.com/@RockstarGames + take2games.com/ir.

Both parts held: no GTA VI trailer published before the call, and Take-Two reaffirmed the November 19, 2026 date at its Q4 FY2026 earnings on 2026-05-21. Graded retrospectively at Edition No. 0's verification sitting, 2026-08-04. · per take2games.com/ir (Q4 FY2026 earnings, 2026-05-21) + rockstargames.com/newswire

  • ON THE RECORD — AWAITING REALITY

I don't see August coming & going without a GTA6 update and Trailer 3 drop. The true wonder is: When in August?

    2026-07-26 · X (reply, @NateTheHate2) · source

The rule: Two-part claim, graded as written on BOTH parts by 2026-08-31 11:59pm ET: (a) an official GTA VI update from Rockstar — satisfied 2026-08-06 by the Extended Look announcement; (b) a Trailer 3 drop — a video Rockstar itself bills as a GTA VI trailer, published on or before Aug 31. The Aug 27 'An Extended Look' premiere satisfies (b) only if Rockstar's own materials bill it as a trailer. Partial delivery is recorded in the note, never the grade. Posted as a reply (leading @-mentions omitted here; the archive holds the full text); posted 2026-07-27 03:07 UTC = July 26, 11:07pm ET — press coverage dates it Jul 27 from the UTC stamp. Framing: expectation language ('I don't see…'), not sourced information — recorded as such. Official resolver: rockstargames.com/newswire + youtube.com/@RockstarGames.

  • RECORDED — UNGRADEABLE (HEDGE)

Instead of worrying about delays, some of you better start translating once the French, Italian, Spanish, German, Japanese ..etc previews drop.

    2025-11-03 · GTAForums · source

The rule: No official resolver exists for press-preview logistics — recorded, never scored: the Index keeps hedged/unresolvable claims visible without grading them. Tez2's own framing in the same thread: 'This isn't inside info or anything like that. Just speculation-wise, based on how R* tends to follow the third trailer with the first previews.' (archived: web.archive.org/web/20260218062213 of thread page 175).
